Dynamic Leadership

Community Schools often braid together multiple initiatives for overall impact.  Sometimes we need to start new efforts to close gaps.  Dr. Larry Spring and Dr. Kevin Whitaker bring dynamic leadership lessons to the NYS Thruway Coalition.  In a session aimed at school and community leaders, Dr. Spring and Dr. Whitaker discuss the ideas around launching an initiative.  What factors should be considered?  What can you control?  Dr. Spring will offer a formulaic approach he developed, and Dr. Whitaker will share some examples of how that approach has aided him in making leadership decisions and explaining those decisions to others.  Sometimes a leaders “gut” or “intuition” is already considering these factors.  This might help avoid a Being able to articulate the challenge ahead can help leaders explain and enlist people –and sometimes even excite people- about what could be.   Come learn some skills that will help build Collaborative Leadership practices in your Community School.
