"Dads bring your children to school day" was a huge success. 354 dad and male figures representing four Schenectady community schools, Hamilton, King, Paige, and Keane, brought their kids to school Thursday. While students posed for a photo and then headed to class, their dads spent part of their morning engaging with one another, school leadership, and the school parent liaisons.
This nationwide fatherhood engagement event began in 2007 as an outreach initiative to help fathers engage in their children's education. It presents an opportunity for dads to get to know one another and for schools to get to know the dads and encourage their involvement throughout the year.
